Tourism Asturias promotes the “Natural Paradise” in taxi ad campaign with Ubiquitous

Tourism Asturias is showcasing the astonishing landscape of the North Western Spanish region on a fleet of London taxis with taxi advertising specialists Ubiquitous. Dubbed the “natural paradise”, the Asturias landscape is captured on the sides of 90 SuperSide taxis in the form of breath-taking scenes of mountains, rich greenery and majestic bears. These images are echoed on the tip-seats inside the taxis, so that passengers can lose themselves in Asturias throughout their journey.
The tourist board aims to promote Asturias as the Spanish destination for culture and nature lovers, among Londoners who are accustomed to life in an urban setting. The taxis are part of a wider marketing campaign by Tourism Asturias, which will also feature advertising on buses, the London Underground and in specialist press titles.
The Board at Tourism Asturias comments, “With this new campaign, we wanted to share the natural richness of Asturias with Londoners looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The astounding landscape of Asturias’ 6,500 ft. mountains, which are extremely close to the Asturian coastal line, is brought to life on the iconic London taxis and we believe that the contrast between the lush images of Asturias and in the powerful urban setting of London will help the “natural paradise” of the region truly stand out.”
Andrew Barnett, Managing Director at Ubiquitous adds, “Taxi advertising is a proven way of making an impact in a busy city like London. Reaching right across the capital from the centre to the airports, taxis are an excellent way for travel and tourism companies to reach busy city dwellers who might be planning their next escape. The taxi provides the perfect urban backdrop to offset the captivating natural beauty of Asturias.”
